Join us for a lecture by researchers from IPS PAS in Vienna!

On October 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Polish Academy of Sciences Research Station in Vienna, Prof. Piotr Madajczyk and Dr. Magdalena Lemańczyk will deliver a lecture titled:

„Schwieriges Erbe der Nachkriegszeit. Die Lager für Deutsche in Polen (1945–1949) in Erinnerung und Geschichtspolitik”.(The Difficult Legacy of the Postwar Period. The Camps for Germans in Poland (1945–1949) in Memory and Historical Politics.”).

The lecture will draw on the findings of the latest research on memory and commemoration of postwar camps for Germans in Poland, as well as the social and political mechanisms of remembering, silencing, and publicly negotiating this difficult legacy.
