Professor Karolina Borońska-Hryniewiecka

Karolina Borońska-Hryniewiecka is a professor at the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences where she leads her research project EUDIS “Between politicization and legitimacy: transnational political discourse on EU institutional reform” funded by the National Science Centre.

Karolina is also associate professor at the University of Wrocław (currently on leave) and associate research fellow at the Université Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne in the European Centre for Sociology and Political Science (CESSP) where she previously lectured. Since 2024 she has been the Vice-President of the Polish Association of European Studies (PTSE). In the past Karolina worked as a head of EU program at the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM), lecturer at the Paris 2 – Panthéon Assas and at the Masaryk University. She was also a visiting fellow at Sciences Po Centre for European Studies and Comparative Politics and a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute.

Her research has been published in leading academic journals such as „West European Politics”, “European Political Science Review”, „Journal of European Integration”, „Journal of Legislative Studies” and “Parliamentary Affairs” among others.

Karolina is also an expert of Team Europe Direct  and a regular media commentator on European politics and policies.
