Maciej Łuczak, Ph.D.

Maciej Łuczak is a lawyer and political scientist, assistant professor at the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences. His research is interdisciplinary in nature. They are related to law, political science and modern history. In 2021, he defended his doctoral thesis written under the supervision of prof. Andrzej Friszke entitled „Anatomy of political processes. Criminal proceedings against signatories and writers supporting Letter 34”.

  • Culture, literature and film in the Polish People’s Republic
  • Functioning of the justice system in authoritarian regimes
  • Democratic opposition in the times of the Polish People’s Republic
  • Structures of social resistance, in particular the Workers’ Defense Committee
