Milan Kundera in the Polish Underground. The Case of Unofficial Literary Studies and Samizdat-Tamizdat System
Milan Kundera in the Polish underground publishing scene? That was precisely the topic of discussion at the 7th World Congress of Bohemian Studies, “Literature and Language(s) in Dialogue”!
On June 30 of this year, Dr. Jan Olaszek from #ISPPAN, together with Dr. Anna Gnot and Dr. Petra Loučová from the Institute of Czech Literature at the Czech Academy of Sciences, presented a paper at the congress titled “Milan Kundera in the Polish Underground. The Case of Unofficial Literary Studies and the Samizdat-Tamizdat System”.
The presentation took place during the panel “Transnationalism During the Cold War. Authors, Translators, Scholars, and Readers” and focused on the circulation of Milan Kundera’s works in the Polish underground as well as transnational networks for the exchange of literature and ideas during the Cold War.
Congratulations to the speakers, and we’re delighted that research conducted at #ISPPAN is being presented at the most important international academic forums!
